What is gold vermeil?
Gold vermeil (pronounced ver-MAY) is a thick layer of 18k gold bonded over 925 sterling silver. Our vermeil is 2.5–3.0 microns thick — five times thicker than standard gold-plated jewelry. It's more durable, more valuable, and won't turn your skin green.
What's the difference between gold vermeil and solid gold?
Gold vermeil uses a sterling silver base with a thick gold coating. Solid gold (10k or 14k) is gold all the way through — no base metal. Solid gold never fades or tarnishes and is the most durable option. Both are hypoallergenic.
Are your diamonds real?
We use lab-grown diamonds, which are physically, chemically, and optically identical to mined diamonds. They're real diamonds — just created in a lab rather than extracted from the earth. Same sparkle, same hardness, same certification standards.
What ring size should I order?
If you already know your ring size, use it. If not, we recommend visiting a local jeweler for a quick measurement — it's usually free. Our rings are available in US sizes 4–10. If you're between sizes, we suggest sizing up.
Can I shower or swim with my jewelry?
Gold vermeil and solid gold pieces are water resistant — showering and hand washing are fine. We recommend removing jewelry before swimming in chlorinated pools or salt water, and before applying perfume or lotion.
How long does shipping take?
Orders ship within 1 business day. Standard delivery takes 3–10 business days depending on your location. Express shipping is available at checkout. All orders include tracking. See our Shipping & Returns page for details.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes — free standard shipping on all orders over $80. Orders under $80 are subject to a flat shipping fee.
What if my order arrives damaged?
Contact us at hello@monnait.com with a photo within 48 hours of delivery. We'll send a replacement immediately at no cost.
Can I return solid gold pieces?
Solid gold pieces are handmade and cannot be returned for a refund. However, exchanges for a different size are available within 30 days. See our exchange policy for details.
