Jewelry Care
Caring for Your Monnait Jewelry
Every piece is built for daily wear — but a little care goes a long way.
Gold Vermeil (18k gold over 925 silver)
- Safe to wear in the shower and while washing hands.
- Remove before swimming in chlorinated pools or salt water.
- Avoid prolonged contact with perfume, lotion, and harsh chemicals.
- Store in the velvet pouch or jewelry box provided — exposure to air can accelerate tarnishing over time.
- Clean gently with a soft cloth. For deeper cleaning, use warm water with a drop of mild soap, then pat dry.
Solid Gold (10k / 14k)
- Solid gold is the most durable material in our collection. It won't tarnish or fade.
- Safe to wear in water, during exercise, and while sleeping.
- Clean with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Dry with a lint-free cloth.
- Professional polishing is available under our lifetime warranty — contact us for a complimentary polish.
Sterling Silver (925)
- Sterling silver may develop a natural patina over time. This is normal and can be polished away.
- Store in an airtight bag or the provided pouch when not wearing.
- Clean with a silver polishing cloth or warm soapy water.
Lab-Grown Diamonds & Gemstones
- Lab-grown diamonds are identical to mined diamonds in hardness and durability.
- Clean with warm water and a soft toothbrush. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners for vermeil settings.
Freshwater Pearls
- Pearls are organic and more delicate than other gemstones.
- Put pearls on last (after perfume, hairspray, and makeup) and take them off first.
- Wipe gently with a damp cloth after wearing. Never soak in water or cleaning solutions.
